8 Places in Singapore for Family Photography
It seems so long ago that travel was possible. Since all of us are kind of stuck in Singapore, what better time to explore our little garden city with a family photography session together with your loved ones. You will be surprised at what our little island has to offer. We have suggestions for both indoors and outdoor locations, whether you are afraid of the heat and humidity of Singapore or whether you embrace the great outdoors.
Singapore Botanic Gardens
Singapore Botanic Gardens is Singapore’s first UNESCO Heritage Site and it is also conveniently located in town. Given its sheer size, there’s a variety of locations that you can choose from - from the famous bandstand or the famous Tembusu tree (that is on our 5 dollar note) to the secluded nooks and crannies that you can discover with us. A huge bonus is that there are plenty of kid-friendly dining places located in Botanic Gardens where you can enjoy brunch after the photography session.

Jurong Lake Gardens
One of Singapore’s National Gardens, with the other two being Singapore Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay. One of the more popular spots is The Grasslands, which is an area filled with tall grass and lalang. The early morning sun here also gives your photos a gorgeous golden glow.
East Coast Park
East Coast Park is Singapore’s largest park and is built entirely on reclaimed land. It also has the longest beach at 15km. This is perfect for families who love the sun, sand and the sea! If you spend your weekends with your family cycling or having a picnic at East Coast Park, we can definitely capture those fun moments for you!
Coney Island
This is one of the more rustic places in Singapore. Filled with tall trees, rugged trails and areas for you to venture to the many beaches located here. There’s definitely a different look for photos taken here! If you choose to have your photos taken here, be prepared with insect repellents as the sandflies here are pretty notorious.

Contrary to popular belief, studio photography does not need to be boring. Our studio is called Raw Space because the possibilities are endless.
The concrete wall gives a modern look to your family portraits.
For traditional photos, we have options for backdrops and for the not so traditional, we have different decors to suit your needs. We can even set up a bedroom worthy of your #bedroomgoals. You are encouraged to bring personal items or props to include in your sessions such as ultrasound photos for your maternity session or your kids' favourite toy for your family photography sessions. The convenience of doing the session at the studio would also mean that you would be able to change your outfits for a different look.
We also work with stylists if you wish to have a more elaborated decor and setup.
Your Home
This is always a good choice for your photography sessions as having these sessions at home means that your kids are on their home-ground. At home, they are more comfortable and in their happy place. Most of the time, they love showing off their room and their favourite toys, which makes for great interactions. This helps them warm up to the photographer.
These sessions would give a glimpse into your lives at home and preserve these memories of the place your kids grew up in. Years down the road, when they have grown up and moved out, all of you can relive these priceless memories of the home they grow up in.
Activities can range from baking or cooking in the kitchen, a little arts and crafts session or just snuggling in bed watching Disney cartoons! The flexibility of doing this at home means that the photographer can encapsulate moments of your family just being themselves. The key is to just have fun!

With travel being out of the question during this covid pandemic, staycations in Singapore are the closest thing you can have to a holiday. Some hotels have kids package where they have themed rooms or even fun tents that would be a special treat for your kids. We can have the photography sessions in the hotel rooms or even in the hotel vicinity.

If you are looking to do milk bath photography for your maternity photos, you can look for hotels with bathtubs. Bonus if the bathtubs are lit with natural daylight!
Back at School
Last but not least, if you are looking to celebrate your graduation, you can go back to school with your family. You can show them around your haunts or bring them to where you always have your favourite meal.
